Sapa is a mountainous district of great natural beauty and the starting point for climbers wishing to conquer the Fansipan Mountain - the highest in Vietnam at 3,143 metres. The area is inhabited by local hill-tribes from different ethnic groups. The main town also called Sapa, was formerly a French hillside retreat. It's fast becoming a centre for eco-tourism, with activities like kayaking and trekking to places like Silver Waterfall, Rattan Bridge, Bamboo Forest and Ta Phin Cave. Best time to visit is in April and May when the area is blooming with flowers and green pastures.
Green Bamboo Hotel has probably the nicest view in compare to other hotels in Sapa area. From all rooms, the guest can see a great view of Muong river valley and Fansipan mountain range, especially the Fansipan peak (3143 m above sea level). It is the highest mountain peak in Vietnam and Indochina, with a really romantic view. Green Bamboo Hotel has an unique bar at ground floor of an old French building, the only real bar in all Sapa. On weekend nights, we usually organize a traditional concert shown by the Black H'mong ethnic people, entry is free.
